Wedding rings are an important part of a wedding ceremony – they’re a symbol of your love that will bring you joy day after day, so it’s crucial to make the right choice. The following tips will help you with this.

First Rule — Ring Size

When choosing wedding rings, it’s important that both people come for the fitting. This can be done at a jewelry store or any workshop, or you can use an online ring sizer which can accurately determine your size. All sizes are standardized, so you won’t encounter a situation where you get measured at one place and get one result, and another result elsewhere.
For example, size 19. What does this mean? There’s a ring, and the inner diameter of the ring is 19 millimeters – it’s simply the ring’s diameter in millimeters. You can find the complete list of sizes on our website in the size chart.

When choosing a size, it’s important to pay attention to the following details:

  • You need to consider that people’s fingers can swell and conversely shrink. In the morning when a person wakes up, they typically swell slightly; in hot weather they expand, and when it’s cold, they contract – you need to pay attention to this. If you’re ordering rings in winter for a summer wedding, they might fit perfectly in winter, but in summer you might not be able to put the rings on.
  • The ring diameter might be the same, say 19 millimeters, but the ring width changes how it feels on your finger. The wider the ring, the tighter it sits on your finger.
  • There’s also a situation when the knuckle is wide but the base of the finger is quite narrow, so when putting on the ring, it barely fits through or doesn’t fit at all.

Next Point – Ring Profile Shape

They come in the following types: rectangular convex, like most of our parents had; convex, when manufacturers want to save metal or make rings lighter because they’re hollow inside, as well as classic shapes.
Pay special attention to the inner part of the ring – it can be flat or rounded. What does this provide? When you choose a rounded shape (called comfort fit), the ring slides onto your finger more easily, it literally wraps around and goes on very smoothly. But you need to consider that the contact area between this ring and your finger is small. This means when ordering or buying rings with comfort fit, you need to make them 0.3 size smaller. For example, if you wear size 17.5, you should make this ring size 17.2 so it won’t slip off and get lost.

More comfortable are rings with a convex surface. Everything that touches them flows smoothly around and causes no discomfort at all. If you’re a proponent of comfortable wear, so you don’t feel the rings at all, it’s better to choose convex or oval profile rings.

Third Parameter — Ring Width

Many people want very wide rings, buy them, wear them for a month or two, but then they start to constantly feel the ring. Such people later order narrower rings that they can wear every day without feeling discomfort.

Fourth Point — Style

Rings can be in one unified style, or they can be completely different. If you want to buy rings in a unified style, it’s important to take care of the purchase well in advance. This is because you might come to one jewelry store where they have your sizes, but the rings will be different. You’ll go to another place – beautiful rings, in one style, but they won’t have suitable sizes. You’ll have to spend a lot of time on all this searching, because most jewelry stores purchase from 5-6 main manufacturers in the country and the assortment in these stores is often identical.

But do you really need to follow the same style in wedding rings? Actually, no. For example, a girl wants a ring with some kind of band with huge stones, while the men’s ring can be made simple, with at most some texture added. In this case, these two rings can be unified with a common engraving. You can apply a commemorative engraving inside the ring, or it can be done on the edge. Usually the most popular phrases are some common meeting places or certain phrases. Very often they write the name of their significant other. That is, the male ring has the female name written inside, and the female ring has the male name. Engraving is a good way to make your rings unique, because you can write anything there: even a message to yourself from the future, or even the terms of a prenuptial agreement.
